Mushfiqur Rahim is the integral part of Bangladesh cricket for a long time. He’s a pioneer cricket in all formats. He’s also one of the finest wicket-keeper cum batsman in the world. Moreover, he also served as a captain for Bangladesh Cricket Team. But, somehow, he never got his true recognition in IPL. IPL teams always snubbed him for no reason. It seems that the Bogra-born wicket-keeper has had enough. He lost his interest completely on IPL. As a result, he decided to opts out from the upcoming IPL’s mini-auction.

We have not made any submission for Mushfiqur Rahim for IPL this time.

NIBCO, the handler of his account told to New Age.

Rahim has played 86 T20Is for Bangladesh, aggregating 1282 runs, strike rate 120.03. The veteran batsman of Bangladesh was at his best in the last India tour. He played very well in the 3 T20Is against them. Moreover, he also did a splendid job in all the T20 tournaments held in Bangladesh. After doing all these magical things, he surely deserve a place in IPL. But, that never happened and he lost his patience.

Furthermore, although he’s one of the top performer for Bangladesh for a long period, he never gets international recognition at all. For instance, he only got a chance to play for international T20 stage. That chance came in PSL‘s 2016 edition. The Karachi Kings offered him to play for them. But, this is it. That was the only foreign tournament he played so far. Almost 1100 cricketers applied to play for IPL. Five Bangladeshi cricketers also joined this list. They are – Shakib Al Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman, Soumya Sarkar, Liton Das, and Mahmudullah. He has two double tons and 21 half-centuries to his name at an average of 36.63. Tamim Iqbal, Bangladesh’s leading run-scorer across formats, is behind him with 4414 runs.
