As usual, the most glamorous domestic cricket league in the world draws superb excitement around the cricket world. It didn’t disappoint at all in this year’s auction too. The franchisees spent big amounts of money to bring their preferable players on their team. They didn’t shy to spend big in order to bring glory. The eight franchises of IPL tried their best to lure the most effective players around the world. Franchisees like Kolkata Knight Riders, Kings XI Punjab, Mumbai Indians stole the show. As IPL is a money league, a huge amount of money always been spent in order to purchase players. This is one of the biggest reasons IPL is such a popular domestic league in the cricket universe. The IPL 2020 auction also brought a similar spark. Two of Aussie cricketers – Pat Cummins and Glen Maxwell are leading the IPL 2020’s most expensive player. On the other hand, Piyush Chawla becomes the most expensive Indian player in this IPL 2020 auction.

1. 1. Pat Cummins – Kolkata Knight Riders (INR 15.50 cr)

      Australian pacer Pat Cummins becomes the most expensive player in the IPL 2020 auction. Cummins is not only the most expensive in the 2020 auction but also the most expensive overseas cricketer in IPL history. He is also the second costliest player of IPL ever after Yuvraj Singh. Cummins brought by Kolkata Knight Riders for a whopping 15.50 crore rupees. He is ready to play for the star-studded KKR side. However, this is not the first journey for him for the KKR team. He played before at KKR in 2014. But, he only played a single match. Then, he also played for Delhi in 2017 where he took 15 wickets in 12 matches. There was a battle for him between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals in IPL 2020 bidding period. However, it is KKR who finally won the bidding war.

      

   2. Glen Maxwell – Kings XI Punjab (INR 10.75 cr)

      Another Australian becomes the second-most expensive player of the IPL 2020 season. Maxwell is the ultimate “Big Show” of T20 cricket and undoubtedly one of the most lethal batsmen in T20 cricket. He missed out the last year’s competition and back with a bang. Maxwell is such a perfect package in every aspect. With batting, he brings total destructiveness. He can also do wonders with his off-spin bowling alongside his wicket-keeping charisma. Kings XI Punjab did a good job to break the bank for him.

      

   3. Chris Morris – Royal Challengers Bangalore (INR 10 cr)

      The big South African player is the third most expensive player in IPL 2020. RCB brought him for massive INR 10 crore rupees and he worth this. He did a wonderful job for Delhi in the last edition. Therefore, he was hot property this season as Kings XI Punjab, Mumbai Indians tried to lure his service. But, RCB finally won the bidding war. His magnificent bowling and the capability to bat well for middle-0rder is the main reason behind the huge sum of RCB that will surely push their maiden IPL title.

      

   4. Sheldon Cottrell – Kings XI Punjab (INR 8.50 cr)

      The West Indies man is one of the hottest properties in white-ball cricket for the past couple of years. He is doing wonder for his national team. Now, it’s a great chance to show his capability in IPL too. The left-arm pacer costs INR 8.50 crore and brought by Kings XI Punjab.

      

   5. Nathan-Coulter-Nile – Mumbai Indians (INR 8 cr)

      The Australian international will be part of the defending champion Mumbai Indians. Mumbai shows they are ready to defend their title in this season by bringing Nile, Chris Lynn, Trent Boult. Nile will play alongside for a great bowling unit of Mumbai that consists of Malinga, Boult, Bumrah, etc. However, he can add depth to the squad. He has picked up 36 wickets in 26 matches at an economy rate of 7.66.

      

   6. Shimron Hetmyer – Delhi Capitals (INR 7.75 cr)

      The West Indies cricketer passed a disappointing tournament in IPL in the last season. He only managed to score 90 runs in five matches for RCB. But, he still draws attention in this year’s edition as Delhi Capitals acquired his service for INR 7.75 cr rupees. Hetmyer did a great job in CPL 2020 and that might brings confidence in him for IPL 2020.

      

   7. Piyush Chawla – Chennai Super Kings (INR 6.75 cr)

      The only Indian who dominated the top 10 expensive players list in 2020. Chennai is ready to bring back the IPL title again and they show the signs. Chawla will play for Chennai after passing five years in KKR and Punjab. The charismatic all-rounder is the fourth-highest wicket-taker in IPL with 150 wickets in his kettle.

      

   8. Sam Curran – Chennai Super Kings (INR 5.50 cr)

      The English bowler made his maiden IPL debut for Punjab in last year. But, his performance wasn’t this impressive and Punjab didn’t retain him. Now, he will play for Chennai. His good performance for England is perhaps the main reason Chennai spent so big for him.

      The English skipper will play for the star-studded lineup of KKR and cost a massive INR 5.25 crore. He isn’t playing for IPL after 2017 but backs with a bang. His wonderful performance for England in short formats is the reason behind his massive cost.

      

   10. Marcus Stoinis – Delhi Capitals (INR 4.8 cr)

       The Australian all-rounder is the last in the line. He produced a disappointing performance in IPL for RCB in the last season. But, his superb performance in Big Bash League 2020 is perhaps the main reason for his expensive acquisition.
