So here below we are presenting Bangladesh ICC CWC Report 2019
Bangladesh ICC CWC Report 2019
Overview
At first, all seemed to go in favor of Bangladesh. They defeated strong opponent like South Africa and West Indies delivering a spectacular performance. These wins have given proof of their ability to play in a tough situation and strong rivals. Moreover, Bangladesh headed into the last week of World Cup still bearing their hope for semi-finals. However, their back-to-back loss to India and Pakistan put the final nail in their expectations.
But if there hadn’t been a washout against Sri Lanka or if they could somehow manage to ignore the narrow defeat to New Zealand, Bangladesh could have been able to play into the semi-finals. Though they faced defeat against India and Australia, their performance during those match was praised by all the critics and cricket experts.
Positive Sides
Shakib Al Hasan has been in the center of everything excellent about Bangladesh for the past decade or so. He was all over the news after every match. Why wouldn’t he when this all-rounder was phenomenally making 50‘s on seven out of 8 matches. His lowest score in this CWC19 was 41. Along with 604 runs, he took 11 wickets in this session. Shakib was a very strong contender of player of the tournament.
However, in this world cup wicketkeeper/batsman Mushfiqur Rahim showed some good performance along with Liton Das– whose unbeaten 94 brought the tiger’s victory over WI. In the bowling department, Mustafiz, Saifuddin and Miraz were incredible. This trio will be in the core of bowling attack of Bangladesh in the upcoming days. And perhaps, Bangladesh had the most vibrant and cheerful fan among all the teams in this session. They really created a festive environment during every match.
Need to improve
While the bowling sector has seen many new faces, in the batting sector though there hasn’t been much of a change for a long time. We are seeing these faces for a long time. These players did not help the team to create a strong base in the opening. Bangladesh does not have a strong opening line up like India or Australia which is really a big lack of theirs. They really need to find some new talent in this area. Moreover they also now lack a head coach to guide them which they need to find really soon.
Rising star
Is it too late to say Mustafiz is a rising star of Bangladesh? Maybe we can, maybe we cant. But we have to agree that this 23 years pacer of Bangladesh is a rare gem. From his inauguration back in 2015, till in this World Cup Mustafiz has bowled with such a unique passion that batsmen seem t fall into riddle when they face them. He took 20 wickets which is the highest number of wickets taken by any Bangladeshi ever in a world cup. So yes, he has tremendous potential and will hopefully be performing better in the future if he doesn’t face any injury concern.

Conclusion
Bangladesh is not amateur in this game. They have been playing cricket for a long time. But their improvement rate is quite slow. Surely now they have gained the ability to challenge some big teams but they still lack the ability to play well under pressure. They need to find some good batsmen and hopefully, in the following CWC23, they will perform better.
