Bangladesh Women Cricket Team received a massive blow ahead of ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers. The captain of their team Rumana Ahmed ruled out from the tournament due to injury. She is one of the star performer of the team and also the leader of the team. Bangladesh will face problem without her.

Papua New Guinea is the team Bangladesh are going to face in their first game of the qualifiers. The tournament is set to be played in Scotland from August 31 to September 7. The place of Rumana Ahmed is very difficult to fill. She is undoubtedly the biggest star, backbone and the leader of the team.

BCB women’s wing manager Nazmul Abedin confirmed that news. He confirmed that Rumana got a knee injury and currently going through a rehabilitation program in order to get fit again.

Currently, we’re not considering for the T20 qualifiers. She’s now going under a rehabilitation program because of her knee injury. It will take time to get full recovery.

He also emphasized on her absence.

The absence of her is such a big blow for our team. She’s an experienced cricketer and the absence of her will be huge.

Bangladeshi pacer Jahanara Alam said that they are looking forward to the qualifier and they are looking forward ot win few matches in there.

Bangladesh took part in three editions of World T20: 2014, 2016 and 2018, but have come up with one victory so far. The performance in the last edition was very much disappointing. It was more disappointing because they only registered a single win after coming from the maiden Asia Cup title.

We are looking forward to the qualifier and we’re hoping to qualify. We also want to win at least two matches first in T20 tournament.

Bangladesh women’s team will go to the Netherlands before arriving in Scotland for a 10-day preparation camp. After the last-year disappointment, they were looking to come back, but their dream got hit after the injury of their leader.
