Additionally, there will be three Tests that are going to happen between them. All of them are scheduled to start on July 8, 16, and 24. Moreover, these three Tests will be happening behind closed doors at Ageas Bowl and Emirates Old Trafford due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

The CWI board gave approval in principle for the proposed upcoming West Indies Test tour of England. The decision comes only after CWI medical and cricket-related representatives and advisors have been involved in detailed discussions with the ECB, and their own medical and public health advisers.

CWI said in a statement.

On the other hand, CWI also confirmed that they’ve already reviewed the decision of ECB and the demands for a bio-secure environment.

CWI has also received and reviewed detailed plans for players and staff to be kept in a bio-secure environment for the duration of the tour, with all matches being played behind closed doors.

However, the Test series is still yet to get approval from the British government.

Furthermore, all of the next movements will be mostly logistical. CWI will talk to the various Caribbean governments. Besides, they will have to organize privately chartered planes, medical screenings, COVID 19 testing of all the players and staff.

Meanwhile, CWI chief executive Johnny Grave told BBC’s Today Programme that they will not force players to join the tour.

There has been some nervousness from the players and certainly here in Antigua, you know, we’re now Covid-19 free so it will be a very different perspective for our players to consider going on the tour.
