English Captain Eoin Morgan hailed his team spirit after this comprehensive triumph.

It was spectacular! It was pretty awesome! we did the exact thing. After two consecutive loss against Sri Lanka and Australia, our chances for semi-finals got bleak but finally, we make it. It’s a great moment for us. We showed our team spirit and it was completely a great victory. We were united at bad times and we were also positive. Now, w get our result. it’s a good feeling. We hope to keep up this positive energy.

He also praised two openers, Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow

They were spectacular and gave us a platform for big innings. John is in great form and gives us great service for the past 2 years.

Man of the Match John Bairstow who scored a spectacular 106-runs from 99 deliveries also pleased by the win.

We’re really glad. We knew that was a must-win game for us and we did the job in a good way. NZ are always a classy side and beating them isn’t an easy thing to do. So, we needed to put on a good performance. After a tough week, we did the job done and we’re really happy.

Kiwis skipper Kane Williamson lamented his side’s three consecutive defeats –

It’s not a good thing to have three defeats in a row. We are not playing at our standard. We need to change our game and play a better brand of cricket. The score was big but there are other options too. We have to learn from these matches and keep moving forward. They outplayed us completely and we just failed to keep up the pace.

Despite the loss, New Zealand has a huge chance to get through in the semi-finals. They are still two points ahead of Pakistan who is sitting on 5th place and they also have better run-rate than Pakistan.
