The world has just seen another action-packed performance at New Road, Worcester. There Worcestershire‘s opening pair Martin Guptill and Riki Wessels hammered Durham and got a nine-wicket victory over them in the Vitality Blast. This is their second win in this tournament so far. They had their inaugural match win against Nottinghamshire on 18 July.

Guptill’s rampage Durham: WORCS vs DUR NG Vitality Blast T20 2019

Worcestershire first won the toss and decided to bowl first. Despite their tremendous effort, Durham batsmen managed to score 181 in 20 overs losing 8 of their wickets. Ales Lees scored 44 runs for his team. However, it was Peter Handscomb whose name was praised so widely by Durham’s director of cricket. He said before the match that peter is a reputed across all format of cricket. He hoped that Peter will add something extra to the dressing room as they look to push on for the rest of the season.

Nonetheless, Peter’s performance was not too shabby. He did manage to score 37 before perishing at long-off to Guptill off Brown on his return to the attack for the 17th over.

When came to bat Guptill and Wessels made the target 182 a poor one as they rampaged through the Durham bowling and fielding. Both of them scored a half-century in just 18 and 20 balls respectively.

Martin Guptill- the man of the match of yesterdays game.

They build a partnership of 148 runs in just 8.5 overs when suddenly Wessels got dismissed by Brydon Carse. Nevertheless, the following journey was smooth as butter for them an on just 12.1 over they earned their victory. Martin Guptill finished the match with a superb six. In his unbeaten 86 run inning he smashed 11 sixes and 3 boundaries.

Now Worcestershire will take on Derbyshire this Wednesday. If they can carry out this havoc, we don’t think anyone would be able to stop them.
