ICC World Cup 2019: South African players who should try to regain some glory against Sri Lanka
Both South Africa and Sri Lanka’s performance is pale in this tournament. South Africa managed to win in 1 matches only and already out from the tournament while Sri Lanka revives little hope after a dramatic win against the host and one of the hot favorites of the tournament England. Here, we want to discuss the South African players who should try to regain some glory against Sri Lanka after a hugely disappointing campaign.

Hashim Amla
South African experienced player Hashim Amla hasn’t played by his standards at this tournament. His performance is just as disappointing as his team. Although he failed to live up the expectations, he is still the main hope for the Proteus to regain some pride. Despite his disappointing show against Pakistan, he did two consecutive good performance against Afghanistan and New Zealand. Hashim Amla scored unbeaten 41 against Afghanistan and 55 against New Zealand. He is undoubtedly the best bet for the Proteus if they want to make a positive result against Sri Lanka.

Lungi Ngidi
The young paceman of South Africa is one of the most promising players for them. He is the main hope for South Africa against the Sri Lankan’s batting lineup. Lungi Ngidi already proves he can take the challenge and can be conclusive under pressure. Ngidi took 3 wickets against Pakistan and he also shone against England at the Oval at World Cup’s first match. If he proves his capability versus Sri Lanka, South Africa will have a great chance to end their campaign with little pride.

Quinton de Kock
Proteus wicket-keeper Quinton de Kock is a very reliable batsman for them. His mercuric batting style and smart glovework earned him comparisons like his legendary predecessor Mark Boucher. De Kock is performance is fairly good in this tournament. He scored two half-centuries along with 47-runs in South African last game against Pakistan. He should step up against Sri Lanka if South Africa wants to get a positive result.

Both Sri Lanka and South Africa – two former giants of cricket are having an extremely disappointing campaign by their standard. Sri Lanka revived small hope after their dramatic triumph over England. South Africa has already been out from the tournament. Sri Lanka is a bit of confidence now and they will have an upper hand against this hapless Proteus team.
