Kent just defeated Somerset for the 11 consecutive times: SG Vitality Blast T20 2019

Both of the openers of Kent came back to them without even getting a chance to bite on the ground and scoring some runs for their team. Captain Daniel Bell-Drummond and Zak Crawley added only 3 runs together in their team’s scorecard. However wicketkeeper Oliver Robinson came at third and held everything in stong hand. On the other hand, Afghan star Mohammad Nabi was furious with his bat. He hit 4 sixes and added 34 runs before being dismissed by Max Waller.  Slowly and steadily he scored 50 and built a base for his team. With the contribution from 10 of the players, Kent was able to give their opponent a hefty target of 166 runs. However, All-rounder Roelof van der Merwe took 3 wickets for Somerset.

When Somerset came to bat, none of their players did get a chance to stick to the ground for long. Kent bowled well yesterday. Their key player Babar Azam was dismissed by Viljoen when he just scored only 7 runs. On the other hand, Imran Qayyum’s spinners dismissed Tom Banton for 28 to trigger a Somerset collapse from 54-1 to 74-7. After that, Kent took the match into their hand and slowly ascended towards an easy victory.

Finally, we can say that Kents decision to bat first after they on the match was appropriate. They are now top of the North Group table leaving Somerset at forth.
