The super cyclone Amphan which had hit Indian’s few parts on May 20 caused large-scale damage. It was also wreaked havoc on West Bengal, Kolkata. Moreover, Kolkata-based football clubs greatly affected by cyclone Amphan. The club tents of 3 famous Kolkata clubs – Mohun Bagan, East Bengal, and Mohammedan Sporting faced heavy damage. Besides, there were several clubs who also witnessed massive wreckage due to the cyclone.

the daring cyclone made its landfall on Wednesday. It made heavy damage to Kolkata. It also created creating significant problems at the well-known Maidan. The club tents of Mohun Bagan, East Bengal, and Mohammedan Sporting got destroyed. Several other popular and well-known clubs also observed high damage due to it.

On top of that,

there were a number of trees uprooted in the area. The total expanse of damage is such a huge for both East Bengal and Mohammedan. But, Mohammedan Sporting is a bit of lucky as cyclone inflicted small damage to them.

the famous Salt Lake Stadium which is house to ATK in the Indian Super League (ISL) wasn’t spared from this life-threatening super cyclone. Most of the trees got uprooted due to the cyclone inside the stadium university. Moreover, the temporary floodlights of the practice ground also got pounded. One part of the galleries of the stadium suffered damage too.

the West Bengal state of India suffered a huge loss due to the super cyclone. West Bengal authority is trying hard to minimize the problem but it becomes hard due to the COVID 19 lockdown in India. As many as 85 people have lost their lives till date in the state and millions of people have seen their houses squashed. All in all, challenges are ahead for West Bengal to remove the suffering of the victims.
