Former Bangladesh Cricket Team captain Akram Khan always gets emotional when he reminds the legendary footballer of Bangladesh, Monem Munna. Late Monem Munna is the captaincy icon of Akram Khan. Both of them shared so many memorable things. Munna was like a big brother to him. Akram even gives him credit for the rising of cricket in this country.

Additionally, Munna left this earth in 2005. His birthday was on the 9th of June. Akram had a cordial relationship with him. Both had a deep respect for each other. As a result, Akram always remembers him. Akram also reminiscence the influence of Munna on cricket.
Munna always supports the cricket of Bangladesh. He gives us inspiration. I got captaincy of the Bangladesh cricket team in 1994. But, I had no experience of cricket before that. However, he supported me on this and was too happy for me.

On top of that, Munna was the captain of Abahani at that time. He managed to bring four domestic trophies for Abahani at that time. At that time, Abahani struggled badly. But, Munna’s charisma helped them in a massive way.
Munna always gave me inspiration. His advice on captaincy was instrumental in my career. I will never forget those sound memories of us.

Munna was an open-minded person. He read various books at night. Moreover, I learned various things from him. It was such a great journey. I never expected he won’t be there so early. It still hurts me.

In addition, Akram met Munna just a few days before his death. Akram insisted he never expects Munna is going to leave for good so early! He also stated the death of Munna was so painful for him. However, it also instilled pain in the Bangladesh sports arena.
