Mashrafe Mortaza’s retirement
After the meeting with BCB, Mashrafe bin Mortaza.

The veteran Bangladeshi bowler didn’t have a great outing in the World Cup. Although he led the national team with dignity, Mashrafe wasn’t his best with the ball. Mash only picked up one wicket of Jonny Bairstow in the eight matches he played in the World Cup. He was expensive as well with an economy of 6.44. However, In the following year, the Tigers won’t be playing many ODIs as the focus remains on the Test Championship and the T20 World Cup. It means that Mashrafe won’t be seen, rocking the red and green jersey many times since he already retired from playing Test and T20I cricket.

Nazmul Hassan Papon– the BCB president wanted to have a discussion with Mashrafe and arrange a grand farewell for the Tigers’ most successful skipper. Yesterday Mashrafe arrived at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium to be part of that meeting ahead of the announcement of the new head coach. After the meeting, Paapon disclosed that Mashrafe has asked two months from BCB before announcing his final decision.

The 35-year-old Mashrafe has suffered a lot of injuries throughout his career. Especially knee injuries turned detrimental in his career. Nonetheless, every great player in every game. Mashrafe is no different here. But we hope he gets a proper farewell.
