Additionally, sports journalist Noman recently took an interview of him. The “little master” of Bangladesh revealed he was so much frustrated at that time. Even, those frustrations were more than painful to him than this ongoing COVID 19 pandemic.

That was the worst time of my life when I accepted my fault of being involved in the match-fixing scandal. I was banned for years, which later reduced to three. That was a tougher time for me than this pandemic.

Ashraful said on Thursday night.

On top of that, he is currently staying at home as the cricketing activity yet to start due to the outbreak. He revealed that everyone close to him literally abandoned him.

I can still remember how devastated and upset I was. By then everyone came to know that I am an offender, everyone came to know that I have done something that was not expected from me. After this incident, everyone, who was close to me, started to go away. I was left alone and stranded. I was clueless about how to live the next part of life, I was clueless about how I go public again. Besides, I was very much anxious about how I repair this damage.

Then, Ashraful added he tried to suicide several times after a Bengali leading newspaper Kalerkantho published the story of his scandal.

I wanted to commit suicide when the news was broken by Kaler Kantho [leading Bengali daily] and it occurred a few more times.
