Somerset

Tom Banton

The wicket-keeper cum opening batsman of Somerset is the main hope for their batting in this season. He has been consistent since his promotion in first-class cricket in 2018. Roelof van der Merwe

The South African born veteran bowler is one of the best off-spinner in County Cricket. He is in a very good form right now. Van der Merwe took 2 wickets vs Glamorgan and 3 wickets vs Kent. He can make striking damage to Surrey’s flimsy batting line up.

Surrey

Will Jacks

The young opener os Surrey has lots of tasks to do. Another opener Aaron Finch will not play because of Ashes series so the pressure will be on him. This will be his chance to show his potential. He already showed his potential though. The young English batsman is one of Surrey’s clutches of youngsters who are very promising. He scored 29 in 8 balls vs Essex in Surrey’s first match vs Essex. He can do better in the next games for sure.

Jade Dernbech

The overall bowling line up is not that convincing of the Surrey County Club. They’re struggling in this position. Only their captain Jern Dernbech is a bit of promising, although he’s not a top-class bowler at all.

Somerset has more weighty players and perfect shaped squad than Surrey. The lesson of the previous edition is also motivating for them. Surrey’s bowling option needs more versatility and they will also find it difficult to replace Aussi skipper Finch who will join with his squad.
