It’s true, I’m not playing well since the World Cup. I’m really frustrated to watch my condition. I’ve been playing here for 12 years and there are many players who are also playing for their nation for long. It’s really disappointing to see the way we performed. Maybe, the time has come for me to take some rest and come back fresh to will up my confidence.

Tamim also talked about a little positivity of Bangladeshi pace bowler Taijul Islam.

Taijul was really good. The way he bowled in the last two matches were very positive. Hope, he will have a better future.

Sri Lankan skipper Dimuth Karunaratne praised his team and said he is happy for the overall performance of his team.

We were really great and our youngsters also showed their caliber. I hope they will continue to do this in the future. It was really an amazing series for us which will add our confidence.

Man of the Series Angelo Mathews also looking forward to the series vs NZ and thanks to his coach.

I want to thank Kula for his wonderful service to us. He’s been a silent hero. It’s a good feeling that I helped my country. I am looking forward to the NZ series now. Hope, we can do well against them too.

Sri Lanka will start their next tour against New Zealand in the middle of August. Bangladesh should review this series with much pragmatism. Yes, it’s true, they were without their important stars. But, the whitewash from an ODI ranking’s bottom team is never a good thing. The form of their batsmen without Shakib Al Hasan is very worrisome. The bowling and fielding were also worse. They need to start from the scalp!
