Shakib Al Hasan becomes the third batsman who scores 600 runs in a World Cup

Shakib Al Hasan is the third player ever who has posted more than 600-runs in a World Cup after Indian and Australian legend Sachin Tendulkar and Mathew Hayden. This is truly a huge achievement for him as he finally got the recognition of his illustrious career. Sadly, his team failed miserably to support him as Bangladesh crashed out from the tournament in the group stage.

Shakib has been in a splendid form in the whole tournament and reaches another milestone in the flagship event. This is not the only achievement of him. Shakib also picked 11 wickets in just eight matches in a single edition of the World Cup. He is the only player in history who does such this remarkable thing.

Shakib Al Hasan did his best but his team failed miserably.

Shakib continued his astounding form even at Bangladesh’s last game versus Pakistan. He scored 64-runs in just 77 deliveries at Lord’s, London on Friday. Although his teammates failed in front of Pakistan bowlers he stood firmly and posted the highest score for Bangladesh.

Shakib scored five half-centuries and two centuries in this World Cup as well as picked up 11 wickets. It’s easy to surmise if Bangladesh could reach in the semi-finals, there could be a great chance Shakib to become the ”Man of the Series”. Sadly, his team failed miserably as he remains the only shining star for his team.

Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza also expressed his sadness for Shakib Al Hasan.

I want to talk about Shakib. He batted at number three position and played exceptionally beautiful. I am really sorry him and I am also feeling so sad for him. He deserved better.

Bangladesh ended their World Cup journey on Friday as they lost to Pakistan by 94-runs and by sitting 7th at the World Cup point table.
